Installation of Broadband
For Installation of Broadband first we have to connect various Equipments as follows.
1. Splitter connections
A Splitter has three ports:-(a) Line, (b) Phone and (c) ADSL
a) Telephone Line coming from Telephone Exchange is connected to Line port of splitter through RJ11 connector.
b) ADSL Modem is connected to ADSL port of the Splitter.
c) Telephone set is connected to Phone port of the Splitter.
2. ADSL Modem Connections
An ADSL MODEM has generally Ethernet port(RJ45),USB Port, ADSL Port(RJ11), WLAN.
a) Power supply is provided to Modem through Adapter .
b) Telphone Line is connected to modem through RJ11 connector at ADSL port for providing ADSL Link to modem.
c) ADSL Modem is connected to PC or Laptop by any one type of media
i) Connecting Ethernet Cable between Ethernet port of Modem and Lan card of PC.
OR
ii) Connecting USB Cable between USB port of Modem and USB Port of PC.
OR
iii) Connecting through Wireless on Laptop
Note: Never connect any Telephone BeforeSplitter on Telephone Line,Telephone Set should always be connected on Telephone Port of the Splitter.Otherwise frequent disconnection of Braodband connection will be there due to ADSL Link failure.
